He holds a Higher Diploma in International Environmental Law from the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) and a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from King Saud University (KSU), Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. He is also a Certified Circular Economy Lifecycle Assessment Specialist from the Circular Economy Laboratory (CircEL), University College London; and a UN PRI Certified Responsible Investment Expert. He has worked with leading global players in Oil & Gas (Shell), Aerospace (BAE Systems) and the mining industry (Saudi Arabian Mining Company Ma’aden). He has recently expanded his advisory services to some government agencies and mega projects on national policy development and program strategy in collaboration with the World Bank. His work focuses on developing sustainability frameworks and corporate strategies to enhance aspects of stakeholder capitalism, sustainable business models and socio-economic impact. Intellectually, Abdulrahman is a regular speaker at regional sustainability forums and has contributed to key working groups such as the G20 Climate Care Working Group (CSWG). Since 2010, he has shared his views and published his reports through the MENA Sustainable Development Forum (menasdf.org) website which he is developing into a regional open think tank to promote the cross-border sustainable development agenda.
